1. Yale New Haven Hospital

20 York Street
New Haven, CT

This hospital is ranked the best in Connecticut and the 20th in the whole of the U.S. They are nationally ranked in 12 adult specialties  including geriatrics, urology and cancer. They are nationally ranked in 9 children’s specialties such as neonatology, pediatric nephrology and pediatric diabetes and endocrinology. They are also high performing in 9 adult procedures and conditions that include abdominal aortic aneurysm repair and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).

2. Hartford Hospital

80 Seymour Street
Hartford, CT

The second best hospital in Connecticut is Hartford Hospital. It is not nationally ranked in anything however is high performing in 1 adult specialty, nephrology. It is also high performing in 8 adult procedures and conditions that include heart bypass surgery, lung cancer surgery and knee replacement.

3. St Francis Hospital and Medical Center

114 Woodland Street
Hartford, CT

This hospital is not nationally ranked in any adult specialty, procedure or condition however is high performing in 5 adult procedures and conditions. Some of these high performing procedures and conditions are heart failure, hip replacement and COPD.

4. Albert J. Solnit Psychiatric Center – South Campus

915 River Road
Middletown, CT

This hospital is the fourth best in Connecticut  but is not nationally ranked or high performing in any adult or child specialty, procedure or condition. This hospital is a children’s psychiatric hospital hence no ranking in any adult specialties, procedures and conditions.

5. Bridgeport Hospital

Bridgeport, CT

This hospital is not ranked nationally in any adult or child specialty. It also isn’t high performing in any adult or child specialty but is high performing in 2 adult procedures and conditions, those being heart failure and COPD.

6. Bristol hospital

41 Brewster Road
Bristol, CT

This hospital, like number 4 is not nationally ranked or high performing in any adult or child specialty, condition or procedure. It is a general medical and surgical facility. It gets 4 out of 5 stars for patient experience.

7. Charlotte Hungerford Hospital

540 Litchfield Street
Torrington, CT

This hospital also is not nationally ranked or high performing in any adult or child specialty, procedure or condition however gets 2 out 5 stars for patient experience. It is a general medical and surgical facility.

8. Connecticut Children’s Medical Center

282 Washington Street
Hartford, CT

This hospital is nationally ranked in 4 children’s specialties, making it the only hospital in Connecticut to be nationally ranked in a children’s specialty. The four specialties they are nationally ranked for include neonatology and pediatric urology.

9. Connecticut Department of Correction’s Hospital

100 Bilton Road
Somers, CT

This hospital, like a few others in Connecticut’s top 10 is not nationally ranked or high performing in any adult or children’s specialty, condition or procedure. This hospital is an institutional facility.

10. Connecticut Hospice

The last hospital on this list is Connecticut Hospice. It is not nationally ranked in any adult or children’s specialty or high performing in any specialty, condition or procedure.
